The Rationalist believed more in science then religion, they wanted to achieve explanation of the natural science. They believed that they could take a scientific approach to self-improvement.
The Puritans believed more in religion then science, they thought that people were suppose to believe in Christ and be saved. They pleaded with god for there improvement.
